The Security Health Check is a free self-assessment based only on your answers. It gives a general, high-level indication and is not a formal audit, Essential Eight maturity assessment, penetration test or professional advice. We don't guarantee its accuracy or completeness. Scores reflect self-reported practices and do not verify that a control is operating effectively. A high score does not guarantee security. Critical gaps can limit the band even when the numerical score is higher.

How the score is calculated

Every question counts towards the total, so the score is always out of the same number of points for everyone. Each answer earns points according to how well the practice is in place. Unanswered questions and “I’m not sure” answers earn no points, as do follow-up questions that are not shown because of an earlier answer. Answers that do not apply to your business, such as not having a website, earn full points. Section scores are calculated the same way.

Exactly what work is included, what is excluded and what you will receive.
